This artwork represents a woman who refuses to let the ugliness of the modern world affect her. Elegant in both her mind and her style, she observes today’s society, superficial relationships, empty behaviors, performative attitudes and the growing banality of human interactions. But instead of becoming bitter or lowering herself to that level, she simply disconnects from it.
The sentence “I DON’T GIVE A FUCK” is not about vulgarity for me. It is about emotional detachment from mediocrity.
It means: your negativity cannot reach me. Your emptiness cannot define me. Your superficiality does not impress me. There is a form of unapologetic pride in this piece, fully assumed. Not the pride of arrogance, but the pride of knowing your own value and refusing to participate in what feels shallow, fake or intellectually empty. She is not trying to save everyone. She is not trying to fit in. She simply rises above it.
The cigarette, the posture, the silence, the elegance; everything in the composition reinforces this feeling of distance and control. The artwork ultimately becomes a statement about standards, individuality and self-respect in a world that often rewards superficiality. Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is stop giving your energy to what diminishes you.
